Question: I want to gain lean not bulky muscle. I know i have to eat more but how many calories is that (5'2 female 97 pounds) and what type of workouts should i do?? Try to up your calories by about 500 a day. Get them from good sources such as sweet potatoes, oatmeal, wheat bread, beans, and vegetables. Stay away from junk foods like honey buns, potato chips and soda. They make you fat. So for example, if you eat 1000 calories a day now, go up to 1500. Peace and love.

you sound perfect to me! I'd kill to be your size... bytheway, running on the treadmill helps you lose weight, not gain it unless you take protein supplements, etc
