If I do Atkins, can I still eat a little rice or pasta each day?!


Question: You have to keep below 20 grams a day. Though you must make sure you drink plenty of water and take multi-vitamins.

20 grams=
RICE-----Rice, brown, cooked 1/2 cup =total carbs= 22 & net carbs=19
PASTA-----Pasta, Whole Wheat, Cooked 1/2 cup= total carbs =19 & net carbs=17

Don't do Atkins, it's not healthy.

And no, you can't eat it if you're doing it.

atkins isn't entirely all that great, but if you insist then eat your carbs(rice,pasta) in the morning for breakfast and immediately after your workout routine.

That'd be a "no." The Atkin's diet is horribly bad for your health, so I wouldn't suggest trying it. I did it several years ago, and ended up being put on Lipitor because my cholesterol levels shot up through the roof (too much meats, cheeses, etc.) It was bad..I felt like crap, and my health really suffered. I'd suggest Weight Watchers instead. I've been on it for a little bit over a year now, and have lost 62lbs so far. I can eat whatever I want, as long as I practice good portion control and don't overdo anything. Its great, and I highly recommend it.

nope... but I will give you a solution to substituting for it... put cauliflower in a food processor and chop it up well. It's not as good, but it will give you something. If you are going Atkins though, drink a ridiculous amount of water, the diet tends to be hard on the kidneys.

no! That's the whole point - only protein!

Be warned - Atkin's works but once you introduce carbohydrates back into your diet (and you must do this as we need them to live a healthy life) then you will be back to square one or even fatter than you were in the first place! Just cut out the wrong foods - fizzy drinks/alcohol/sugar/ sweets/cakes and change your refined carbs to brown rice and wheat pasta.

remember.. atkin diet only allow you to take 21g of carb per day. if u r doing the atkin diet now, rice & pasta will be NO. unless you are in the phase 4 which is a maintenance phase then u can eat rice (brown rice) in a small quantity. take care.
