FRUIT!!!! bananas, apples, oranges... get yourself a juicer and get 7 or 8 portions of fruit and juice the hell out of them and drink it every day... Purple grape juice has twice as many antioxidants in it as orange juice which is fantastic for your skin, eyes, hair and nervous system.... what you should really do is go to your local commuinity centre and they'll help you out with different types of healthy diets, even visit your GP for information on eating healthy.. they are paid to make you healthier, and your diet and lifestlye id probably the most important... Anything green is very healthy. Cook asparagus in a steamer with a thinly sliced lemon, steam until crisp tender, very good.
Bake a sweet potato, remove the inside and mash with a small amount of cinnamon and just a touch of brown sugar, return it to the shell and sprinkle with pecans if you like then bake for about 5 more minutes, much better for you than a white potato.
Thinly slice a zucchini and a yellow squash, saute in a couple of tablespoons of olive oil with a bunch of fresh chopped basal.
For dessert top a thin slice of angel food cake with 1/2 cartoon of banana Yoplait yogurt, 1/2 sliced banana, and a couple of tablespoons of whipped topping. Substitute any flavor of yogurt for other dessert treats.
Chop zucchini, onion, yellow squash and steam slightly. Place a flour tortilla in a skillet, top with any jarred spaghetti sauce the steamed veggies, a handful of grated cheese, and sprinkle with oregano. Put the lid on and cook on the stove for a grilled tortilla pizza.
All these are healthy and low fat too.

"healthy food" is a pretty broad category!!

lol but of course, fruits and veggies are always good snacks. apples are great. eat one a day! oh and if you want to spice up veggies, try dipping them in hummus; it is low-cal and has some protein..not to mention DELICIOUS.

if you want energy, protein will give you longer lasting energy, whereas carbs (preferably things containing whole grain) will give you a shorter burst. For a little protein snack, try these things called turkey bites; you can find them in the lunchmeat section of a grocery store, they come in a ziplock baggy sorta thing. They are good, low-cal, and a great source of protein.

fiber is good in curbing appetite...again whole grains and most fruits and veggies have this.

I like protein bars; Kashi makes good ones, as does balance bar (if you like peanut butter, that one is amazing).

Kashi cereals (lol Kashi is great) are also good... golean crunch is good. So are puffins, but that is a diff brand.

I could go on for quite a while about healthy foods. If you want more ideas, message me!

Good luck on your quest for good health!! =)

oh PS, if you like fried eggs, have a fried egg sandwich on a whole grain english muffin for breakfast; it is under 200 cals and gives you a lot of energy to start your day!

low fat foods are best and if you eat a breakfast every morning like oatmeal ,and some fruits two times a day and a lean meal like the point meals at the store for lunch then a small dinner with a vegetable ,meat, and a salad . it is not what you eat it is how much carbs you put in your body. But if you eat 6 small meals a day and drink 8 glasses of water you will lose. Also make sure you have that breakfast it will boost your metabolism.

Chicken breast
lean steak (eye of round, 97% ground chuck)
fish (tuna, salmon, tilapia etc)
egg whites
shrimp

If you choose to eat carbs make sure that they aren't high glycemic. Try not to eat "white" carbs like sugar, white bread etc. Instead eat stuff like this:

whole wheat bread
whole wheat bagels
wheat pasta
sweet potatoes
brown rice

Fruits and vegetables are important too, but remember that fruit has fructose which is a sugar so try to eat fruit in the morning or during the day rather than at night.

For healthy fats you can have almost any kind of nuts or seeds. If you like to cook, make sure to used something like extra virgin olive oil or sesame oil rather than vegetable oil.

National Body Challenge on the Discovery Channel. has some really good and healthy foods. My favorite is Turkey Kielbasa. Cut the kielbasa into small chunks add chopped red onion and chopped bell pepper. Add cut tomatoes and cook on stove top until kielbasa is done. Serve over brown rice.
Anything that is whole grain. Any vegetables with color are good. Oatmeal, raisin bran flakes with low fat milk. Low fat cheese usually Mozzarella. Look for organic on labels. Turkey burgers, chicken without the skin, Tricuit crackers whole wheat, juice, granola, almonds and walnuts, yogurt and fresh fruit smooties. I'm sure there are alot more. Drawing a blank. A good resource is Dr. Oz's book "You on a Diet".
