Am I doing OKAY???!

Question: I just started a gym membership last week. My plan was to go everyday BUT for one reason or another, I've gone every other day..
So, I've been doing the elipto (spelling?) for 2 miles... Then doing weights..
Today I decided to swim.. For each style, I did two laps.. (back stroke, breast stroke, butterfly, etc.) In total, I did 16 laps...

But I don't feel tired.. Ya, I was out of breath at the moment and my arms/legs were burning..... BUT it just didn't seem like a workout..

Am I doing this okay?? Should I just stick to cardio and weights??
Any opinions/advise???

Thanks!!!!!
Have a great day!!

I would not go everyday as your muscles require 48 hours to repair. And since your doing things like swimming that uses a lot of muscles. The issue of your muscles feeling sore the next day, that may mean that your in fairly good shape, it's recommended that you change your workouts every month so that your muscles don't get used to the motion and they plateau (development stops).

But unless you are going for body building standards. I would not worry too much about feeling sore.

But keep up the good work your routine sounds great. (but remember to change it up after a month)

Cardio is the best for fat burning and general fitness.

Weights are good for toning you up. Swimming is not a great cardio workout but its very good at toning you up.

I would do more cardio if i were you and just swim once a week. You could do swimming one of the days you usually do weights to replace them.

That sounds like a pretty good workout to me. As long as your feeling it (but not too bad) while you're doing it, then yes, you are making a difference to yourself!
It's good to swap about as well, like sometimes do cardio / weights and others do your swimming. Make up a wee routine. cardio and weights are great for fitness and toning but swimming is AMAZING for toning your entire body and burning the calories.

So as long as your eating right then yes! You are doing great! Keep going and good luck!

omg i have always wondered the same thing... i could swim for like an hour or two straight and feel like i didn't even do anything. maybe because you're in water you can't notice that you area actually sweating? im not sure but its weird.

You doing fine but you could do each one every other day!!!!!!!!!
