What are low calorie/no calorie snacks that taste good?!

Question: im a fat kid.
16 years old and 264.
i think its because of the soda i drink, not the food intake,
cause i weigh twice as much as my twin sissy and she eats more than me.
plus i exercise, and she doesnt.
anyways, i switched from 15 cokesdaily to water only.
but im afraid ill start getting hungrier as a result of dropping 2000+ calories daily all of a sudden.
i love fresh green beans and those are only like 17 calories per cup, but is there something i can carry around with me as a snack that tastes good?

I know what your going thru. I have been battling my weight all my life. First off you are going bout it right as far as starting now. My grandma told me when I was 13 that I should lose weight then cause its easier and you don't wanna live life obese, and now at the age of 29 I have to tell her "you were right".

YOU SHOULD SEE A NUTRITIONIST !!! Ask what kind of vitamin you should be taking too! If you have basic health insurance just talk to your doctor. Your doc may want to run tests.

Well on to what you were asking, stuff to snack on ....
What has worked for me is eating all the time. Sounds silly, but I do. I have figured out foods I can snack on all day and still stay under MY calorie intake. These food are expensive but it pays you back. I eat high fiber/low cal/ high protein foods ... Some of my favs:

- If I just wanna eat to eat I will eat a large frozen bag of broccoli with FF butter (fat free). I am so sick of eating after forcing the last of the bag that it helps me from overeating any bad stuff.

- Fiber one bars , my fave is peanuts and oats. YOU HAVE TO EAT TO LOSE!!! I usually start my day with this.

- I love Bocca Chile, it is only 150 cal and 20g protein and 17g of fiber. Its spicey and I really love it. I don't feel deprived at all.

- Yoplait yogurt (light) (100 calories and has calcium)

- Banana (but I limit to no more than one a day)

- I drink vanilla soy milk (light) 2 servings a day. Everyone I know says its gross but thats if you think it gonna taste like regular milk. I like the vanilla. I drink this to get a lil added protein and as a added treat.

- light cheese sticks.

- I also treat apples as I do broccoli, these is just only so much you can eat.

- What works for me is eating all day. I snack all day keeping the calories under 100 per snack. This helps me cause I just love to eat and I feel like I eating all the time.

Find the 100 calorie packs of Nabisco, Hostess stuff. But don't eat ten of them lol

Only carry around snacks if you know you are going to be HUNGRY (not because you will just feel like snacking). If you just have the urge to snack but aren't really hungry (be honest with yourself... are you really in need of food, or do you just want the comfortable habit/addiction of food?) chew some sugar-free gum (I think Clorettes are calorie-fre). If you need snacks for school, bring some fruit and veggies (apples, carrot and celery sticks, etc). They have calories but can fill you up when you're a bit peckish, and will give you some energy.

Best of luck hun.

If you want to change your lifestyle and eating habits, I would recommend eating 5-6 smaller meals every day. If you get in the habit of eating smaller meals more frequently, you won't feel so hungry and want to snack. Eat whole grains, lean meat, fruit and lots of green vegetables.

100 calorie packs might make good snacks, but they're empty calories. Even if you eat them, you'll still be hungry.

A full (or half) sandwich would be a better-- turkey and whole wheat bread with lettuce and mustard.

Low calorie snacks:
almonds
yogurt
pretzels
carrots with ranch dressing
celery with peanut butter
egg whites
graham crackers
fruits - especially apples

I am in the same boat as you... trying to lose and every day is a struggle. Try drinking diet sodas, or ice tea with equal in it. crystal light is pretty good and propel... as for snacks, try carrots and celery with ranch dressing but go easy on the dressing. crutons have less calories and fat than potato chips, but they are crunchy.... slice an apple up and dip the slices in a tablespoon of peanut butter....cold cereal with skim milk....oranges....dry cereal is crunchy like potato chips....bananas, grapes.... hope this helps. Don't give up! You can do it!

My field is in fashion, as a result many people ask me how they can slim down. My answer is always the same: good diet and exercise. But I found this great product (all natural) which I think helps a lot in the process (it's really good for detox, you'll feel much healthier). I recommend you check this website
http://weigh-less-feel-great.us , they have a free trial and you only pay $4.95 shipping and handling. Good luck!
