30-40 minutes of treadmil walking (at an incline if you can) 4-5 times a week. If you can raise it to a decent incline, you can walk at 3.1 mph and get a pretty effective workout. Also you can work in a pilates dvd 3 times a week( stregnth training). Make healthier food choices. You should begin to see results in about 3-4 weeks. Good Luck!

you sound pretty sexy to me, wanna get married

What has worked for my girlfriend and I (she too has 4 kids ages 11yrs-23yrs) is the recordings from independent achievement productions. We got the idea from here. She is also doing the dvd exercise called P90X from Beach Body.

I wish I weighed 163 pounds I'd be so happy if I did.

Start walking on the treamill, gradually start going faster and longer till your running for 45-60 min.
And I recommend pilates, they're really great.
Also try using calorieking.com i find it really helpful
email me if you want more detail/help

I am in the same boat (though i had my first child 1 year ago) I have just begun the following program (based on a mix of many different things i have read)

First eat 6 small meals per day, keep carbs low and get them from veggies and other complex carbs. if you want to jump start try eating less then 20 grams a day for a couple weeks. Cut out all sugar, and only drink water (64 oz. per day)
Keep your calories around 1200 per day.

Do cardio (treadmill is fine) try one hour a day and to increase calories burned use weights.
Also do a strength training circut to tone up arms stomach legs etc. Try and do this 3X a week. I also do yoga, but thats more for emotional well-being and de-stressing, which with four kids I would say you could use!
You should take a day off here and there, especially if you are very sore. Never take off more than a day at a time.
I also take a supplement for appetite control and energy, a diet pill, which a lot of people don't advocate, but it helps me stay on track for the time being, and gives me the energy boost I need to commit to my workout schedule.
Lastly stick with it, it does take time, but after a couple weeks you will start to enjoy excercise as your 'me' time. Good Luck!

I put on a lot of weight when I became ill a few years back, and managed to lose all of it without exercise (I had CFS so couldn't exercise) so imagine what you can do as you will be able to exercise as well!

I wanted to see a dietician to help with my diet to improve health, however most of them want to charge you $100 just for one visit and you need a few if you want them to tailor a 7 day eating plan for you.

So instead I opted to go to Jenny Craig - you may not like the sound of it but trust me its worth it in everyway. The consultants are advised by dieticians and can call them at any time to answer your queries. On the program you can call or drop in whenever you like so this way it's like having a dietician on call! I paid AU$300 and I'm covered for 7 years of maintenance!! As you see it works out much cheaper this way, and you have the added benefit of ongoing (FREE!) support.

You do a weight loss portion, but the most invaluable thing for me has been the maintenance portion. I've learnt how much I'm supposed to eat, and a healthy balance of what to eat over the day and I can say without hesitation I have had absolutely no issues maintaining my weight now 2 years on!

Once I became well and could exercise I went to see an exercise physio which is probably one of the smartest things I have ever done. The physio can also help with food advice / weight loss as well if you are interested. They are excellent - you tell them what you want (e.g. I said I wanted Jennifer Garner arms for example hehe) and trust me I have them! I currently weigh 55kg. The only exercise I do is 1 hour of pilates an evening - 2 days on and then one day off and this is enough to maintain my weight with all the food I eat and keep me looking super toned as the exercises are specific for what I need and not a waste of time like a lot of exercises. The best thing too is all you need is one of those inflatable balls - it's all done from home on the floor (infromt of the TV!).

I'm 27 now and had never been overweight in the past (until I became ill) however now I'm more skinny and toned than I have ever been and before I used to do an hour of Aerobics in the morning, and 2 hours of kickboxing at night - and I had nothing like the tone I have now... so trust me... definetely call the exercise physio and if you need some help with diet I highly recommend Jenny Craig.

Sorry for the rambling. Hope that helps :)
