So kelly, on what basis do make your claims about saturated fat and cholesterol. as usual there are no links no evidence no science no logic. Just the the usual regurgatation of official propogander. You may be fit and healthy but to make unsubstantiated claims such as not many vegetarians die of
heart disease is dangerous, and your thinking is incorrect, as very little of our cholesterol is gained from diet.

The improved health of your clients will be due to the exercise regime and most probably elimination of simple processed carbs (if you are doing your job properly)

"I think it is safe to avoid articles like these" This is the single most arrogant, igrorant dangerous statement to make. Let me interpret this into english for the rest of us;

"you are saying something that goes against my beleifs. I do not want to know about it. I will not look or listen to see if what you say has any basis. I am happy to only hear my side of the story, even if i don't have any real proof. the thought that i may actualy be wrong scares the hell out of me so i prefer to bury my head in the sand, and every one else should too."

You finish by saying
"Mainly for the sake of being healthy, and if there is a chance that it could help prevent heart disease i say do it."

yet you are telling people not learn about an alternative view that may just do this, even though you dont you dont seem to even understand the basics of cholesterol, let alone being able to argue your point with any sort of referencing.

So I say in reference to attending these talks.
Mainly for the sake of being healthy, and if there is a chance that it could help prevent heart disease i say do it.

You will then be able to make an informed decision about your health.

I especially liked the part in the artical where it says:
"But if it ain't cholesterol, what causes heart disease? We don't know enough to say for sure but we do have many clues"
If "no one knows for sure" wouldnt it be wise to stay as safe as you can by eating a healthy diet low in the "bad fats" and high cholesterol items. The proof is that many who die of heart disease (which may i add is a number 1 killer of women in America) tend to eat high cholesterol foods and have all the other risk factors and tend to eat these same items. Not many vegetariansd die of this disease... hmm... i wonder why? considering cholesterol is only found in animal products.

Honestly i think this is simply an excuse to eat the wrong foods, and i totally disagree. Even if "some" scientists beleive this, it is still healthier to eat a healthy diet and limit some of these items from our diet. As a personal trainer, i have had many, many clients lose weight and get healthier, and OFF meds for high blood pressure, high cholesterol and cut their risk of heart disease in half.
So i think it is safe to avoid articals like these and simply eat healthy, exercise and stay healthy, regardless, Mainly for the sake of being healthy, and if there is a chance that it could help prevent heart disease i say do it.

i know plenty of people who have lowered their cholesterol and gotten off of meds due to subtracting cholesterol from their diet.
If eating saturated fats cause artery clogging heart disease, it would be silly to say that its ok for people to eat cholesterol, because they go hand in hand! if an item has cholesterol it more than likely has saturated fats as well. why would you support such a thing? its best to eat natural, whole foods from the earth and eat red meats in moderation.
