Is it a good idea to eat something before a workout ?!

You should eat some complex carbs an hour to an hour and a half before your workout, to give you sufficient energy to give your session your 100%. Then after your workout, you should have a post workout meal consisting of mainly protein and some simple carbs ( banana, fruit )

ive been in basketball for 3 years, as u know that is a hard cardio workout alot of running, i eat pasta or something high in carbs 2 hours before and i eat something high in protine or a protine shake within 45mins after im done, dont eat after 2 houre before because ull get cramps

you have to make sure you don't eat like RIGHT before you work out
or else you could get cramps

you should eat an hour before you start working out
that way you have time to digest the food

bananas are always a good pre-workout snack
they fill you up + are low in calories

i usually eat a light breakfast before i go to the gym
i eat
1 scrambled egg with chredded cheese on top
1 peice of toast with a little butter
and a small glass of cranberry juice.

this works well for me because it fills me up without making me feel full

I try to have a protein bar or a Slim Fast Optima High Protein shake.(much tastier than the regular Slim Fast) Also almonds or any type of heart healthy nut is also good for you and filling as well,dairy may also be a good choice(yogurt or string cheese)
