Is it better to skip a meal than to eat bad food?!

Question: I'm currently dieting and exercising. I've cut all junk food and soft drinks out of my diet. Sometimes, when I'm out and about unexpectedly, and not close to home, the only food around is fast food. In that situation, is it better to eat it so I won't "starve" myself, or is it better to skip the meal if the meal would be fast food?

Try and pick a healthy choice from the menu. It's never a good idea to starve yourself. Just eliminate cheese, mayo, and try to stay away from the fried food.

Yes. I do that all the time. Too busy, food too unhealthy...skip the meal.

eat bad food not eating is bad for your helth

yes. u can eat later, and u will be getting bad nutrients which is probably worse then none.

yes. fasting is a great way to manage your wieght. just dont become anorexic!

no I think the best thing to do is to eat just a little bit, if the junk food is your only option. then just have a small amount of it . skipping meals isnt good for your metabolism

just be conscious of what you eat . not all fast food is bad food. grilled chicken is fine (wendy's , mcdonalds, ) subway is good. some restaurants have salads (mcdonalds does) its not good to skip meals ..

It's probably best to eat a small portion of something bad than go a long time without eating. Your body will process that so fast and you'll resist the urge to overeat later.

I usually would eat the bad food... but try to minimize the damage by trying to make the healthiest choices possible and watching how many calories-worth of bad food I'm eating. With fast food it's so incredibly easy to eat too much fat and sodium and calories in general, that one has to be really careful about the dreaded drive-thru. Then when I get back home, I would return to my usual healthy food routine. When done this way, it doesn't seem to derail my weight loss plans much at all, plus I don't feel weak from low blood sugar had I simply skipped the meal.

Always go for the fast food but skip the whole meal and the bad menu choices. Try to go for a plain hamburger no fries if you are out and about. 250-350 calories at most fast food resturants. It will give you carbohydrates and protein and some fat but not too bad. As long as the rest of the food choices you choose are good then this really can't hurt you. Protein bars are good hold overs too.
