I want to lose a lot of weight before spring break... but I need more tips!?!

Question: I am about 179 pounds and 5'6''. I want to lose a lot of weight before I go on vacation at the beginning of April for spring break. I also want to keep it off and lose more for later spring and summer.

How can I get down to approx. 140-145 pounds by the beginning of April?

I eat relatively healthy as it is, but I struggle with portion control. And I don't know exactly what workouts and exercises will be best. Or how much. I suppose I just want a lot of detail and specific tips.

FYI: I have a treadmill, 5-pound weights, a resistance band, an exersize ball, and strap on arm weights. (If that information helps at all)

Thanks!

Try doing wind sprints or HIIT. You can do it on the treadmill. Do this 3x a week and resistance training 2x a week. Resistance training should be push-ups, crunches, and pull-ups (you have a resistance band, perfect for a girl! Put the half of the band at the top of a door. Then pull down like you were doing a pull-up. CAUTION: make sure the band doesn't slip off the top of the door! Use your feet to stabilize the door while you do your exercises.)

HIIT: Run for 2 minutes, sprint for 1, walk for 2, run for 4, sprint for 2, walk for 3, run for 1, sprint for 1, run for 2, walk for 2.

There, a 20 minute workout on the treadmill. And that will boost your metabolism by up to 35% for up to 24 hours.

Just google "HIIT METABOLISM" and find out for yourself.

I'm 5'4 and 185 pounds. I signed up for weight watchers online last week and I've already lost 5 pounds! Its great and easy! It gives you meal ideas and it gives you work out ideas....and there a videos to show you effective ways to use those items you have. It's under $20 a month...and totally worth it!

Alrighty, it would be slightly better if you had a gym membership but I guess you can work with that.

1) You need to eat healthiER (No, you don't need to be a health freak and I ask you not to. But eat more fruits and veggies then the bad stuff)

2) Strength Training or Lifting Weights. I guess you can use those 5lb dumbbells and then your own body weight as resistance. Do pushups, sit-ups, etc.

3) Do a cardiovascular activity (30-45minutes)
I know it sounds harsh but if you don't keep your heart rate up for AT LEAST 30 minutes you will NOT burn fat. So keep going on that treadmill.

Do this routine every other day. Remember don't kill yourself. Don't think that you have to eat paper and protein shakes. You want to keep going and you do that by pacing yourself. Good luck!

Do lots of cardio, at least 5 times a week, put the arm weights on your arms while working out also. By April, you'd probably only lose about 16lbs, that's healthy. 2lbs a week... Is healthy. But, of course depending on your body and how much you're exercising and eating will determine how much weight you lose... With that said, again... Do lots of cardio. Drink water before you eat, eat more vegetables. The meat you put on your plate shoule be about the size of your fist... That's a portion of meat. Veggies and fruit, eat as much of it as you'd like. Don't eat after 7. Cut out all juices and sodas.

You might think about trying this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout as well.
