exercise, exercise, exercise. also, the question is not what should you eat, but what should you NOT eat...if you eat a lot of junk food, start replacing it with healthier foods. don't try to go all healthy all of a sudden, because you will most likely go back to your old ways. i wouldn't say that you really need the vitamins, just supply yourself with a healthy amount through food, and you'll be just fine. remember, you won't see results immediately, healthy results take time. I lost 40 pounds with these guidelines. I hope this helps, and I hope that you soon become a happier, healthier you! good luck! :)

i dont think you need to take vitamin pills. but here's what i would do if i was in your situation.
-exercise every single day before bedtime
-try not to eat after 6 or 7
-cut off the junk food and turn to more healthier foods(the more healthier u eat, the more used to it your going to be)

I don't know what everybody else is gonna say, but at 12 you should probably talk to your doctor. He can tell you which way is best for you.

That said. It's not really a case of what you shouldn't eat, it's a case of HOW MUCH you eat. This goes for everybody. You can enjoy ice cream, but in moderation. Fruits, exercise and vegatables are the best thing for you and will help you lose weight. Of course you don't like vegatables, nobody really does, but we eat them because it's healthy for our bodies.

Good luck.

I don't think that I would do the walking to and from school thing. It sounds a little dangerous. What I would do (I would recommend that you bring a friend) every day (or every other day) I would chose a place in your neighboorhood REALLY close to your house. Like your driveway or something. Then chose another spot. Try ALL YOUR MIGHT to run all of the way to that spot. (Try some place that if you walked there, it would take like 3-5 minutes). "An apple a day keeps the doctor away!" I would eat either an apple or banana everyday when you are hungry whenever you would usually eat something fattening. I think that the vitamin pills MIGHT work...if you were trying to eat LESS altogether. Fattening things include dessert, breads, cheese, and milk. Try to limit the amount of candy you eat to 1-2 pieces a day. Also, before bed, and maybe even in the morning, do 5 sit ups and 5 push ups. When they get easy, move to 6. and etc. After school, if you are hungry, don't eat until dinner. At dinner, don't eat until you are really full. Eat until you think you should be satisfied for the rest of the night. On weekends, run the lap thing twice, and then ride your bike or go for a walk with a friend. Hope this helps!!! GOOD LUCK!

I think your on the right track. You know your overweight. You are committed to lose weight. Your ready to exercise and diet . Good. Now you sound a lot like me with the diet. I know I wouldn't stick to one of these fad diets out there and I don't think they are good for you anyway. There is a way to lose weight and still eat what you like to eat-in moderation of course. Get a calorie counter book. They are not expensive. Figure out what your mom's recipes are and how many servings there are.It may take some time but once it is done it's done. You don't have to figure it out again. Follow the calorie's the book sets out for what you want to weigh and keep exercising. This will work for the rest of your life and you won't feel deprived. Good Luck

going on a diet and not liking veggies is hard sweetie.... it really is cause the provide a great sourse of energy that your body needs to function and the best part is that they are low cal. I think what you need to do if you REALLY want to lose weight is start with baby steps and try eating veggies.... I had a freind that hates veggies too so she eats other things like carbs to fill her up cause you have to eat right? but in all realtity shes more active then i am and she gains weight like crazy.... she too is shorter....

but the thing is if you really have your heart set on losing weight and put your mind to it you can do it. First try to get rid of all sugars no cokes, sprites.... any sweet drinks cut them out seriously you will shed so much weight just from doing that you have no idea... try to stick to water and if your a starbucks goer you have to quit some of those drinks have over three HUNDRED cals in a TALL!!! Ok then when it gets to cookies and cake what ever that lil guilty pleasure of yours you dont have to give it up but u should sure try.... if you have ONE and only ONE thing that you cannot go without eating just cut the porton down to the bare minium k? carbs again you dont have to get rid of them just try to stick to whole wheat products and cut the portions down.

for snacks or a light lunch the light yogarts are get they only have like 70 cals and they taste great! nuts and dried fruits are great for you and the south beach protien bars are yummy and filling.... keep up with walking but also if you have a chance do a little toning here and there... the yoga ball work out is great to get your body looking its best....

i think that by far the easiest thing to do is cut your protions down.... take as half of what you are now and eat SLOW your brain and stomach have to communicate with one another and if you eat really fast then your stomach doesnt have time to tell your head that it's full.... but always keep in mind that you can always go back for seconds if after (give your tummy twenty minutes) your first serving.... oh and do not i repeat do not skip meals!! Youll only mess your system up and gain more weight!!!

I wish you the best of luck and just keep at it i know you can do it....
