Feeling kinda bad.....?!

Question: Well I have recently lost 10 lbs, with a mere 110 to go! LOL! And I can't help but feel really bad when I look at my body and what I have done to it, it's all stretch marked and ugly. And I start to think if only I could have gotten my weight under control sooner, I wouldn't feel so bad. Any advice for getting over this hurdle, and starting to love my body instead of hate it?

I've been there, it's tough, but you HAVE to look at the big picture. You feel better, right? I know, you get the urge to do the constant scale and mirror checks, but if you can resist that and keep things going, it'll go by like that! In no time, the compliments will be flying left and right.

You can't go into the past, but you've learned from your mistakes, and already have made progress, so now you're stronger than ever

Also, it's good to feel good about yourself, but it's important to keep it in check too, don't get TOO cocky. It's okay to cheat once in a while, but only if you know you can control it and get right back to your healthy habits, you've got to be strong. In those cases, it's good to look at the negatives and remind yourself where you don't want to be. Maybe some type of picture or some kind of reminder you can turn to is good. The compliments will start coming before reaching your goal, but don't let that stop you (very easy to do)

Look at your stretch marks like people look at scars from crazy accidents. They represent something. They represent you getting through tough situations in your life, and that is something to be proud of!! A lot of people overeat to deal with emotional pain - which isn't great, but it is a lot better than other distructive ways of bottling it up, like cutting, doing drugs, taking it out on innocent people, etc. Try not to eat when feeling emotional, and find other coping strategies and supportive people. Loosing ten pounds is not easy so keep your mind on what you HAVE already accomplished. Find features about yourself that you love - your eyes, your mind, your muscles, and do a lot of positive self-talk. Wear clothes that are not tight, but have a lot of beautiful flow without being "frumpy."

You should be!

Look for the good.
You have started on the right path. Be proud of what you have done.
You cannot change the past, all you can do is focus on improving the future by living well now.
Any time you start looking at your body and hating it, catch yourself and find 5 things you like about yourself. Focus on the things your body can do, rather than on what it looks like.
Try thinking of your body as a temple, or a work in progress.

Keep going, don't give up!

Well done, losing 10 pounds! I too need to lose weight so I know how difficult it can be! Very!! So congratulations!

I think once you start to get healthy, eating better and doing more exercise - which you must already be doing if you have lost weight - you will get into a better mind set.

You may feel bad for not doing anything sooner, but you are doing it now and that is the really important thing.

Well done on how far you have gotten already and good luck for the future!

I have 50 pounds to lose and its not going so good...i drink so much water, i gained 4 pounds...yuck! that's how i feel...we are not young any more and we have to accept it... and just be thankful that we have our health...we women need to stop putting our self's down....good luck! and congratulations on your not smoking and losing 10 pounds.... I would like for you to try this, they sell a spray in a can " tan for legs" you can buy it at any drug store.. spray it on and rub it in (on scars and stretch marks) it covers everything up and wont rub off ..then take a look at your self...it does help, give it a try...
