you cannot spot reduce fat, but you can tone up inspecific areas.

You need to build up and up on weights you have, start with say 2kg and work your way up a kg at a time to as high as you can.

Mnay repetitions with a lower are better then afew heavy weight lifting bouts.

Repeat everyday.

Aim for 8 slow (taking 5 seconds per monement, so 5x8= 40 seconds for a cycle) repetitions then pause of 10 seconds, then another 8 then pause, this is one cycle, repeat each cycle twice.

You need to ask a gym of fitness instuctor for guideance as its so so easy to go wrong and either be doing no work at all or be doing it wrong and cause an injury.

there are afew I can describe:

hold a dumbe of your choice in both arms, sit on a level surface. make your arms fold into right angels so the arms come out at shoulder level and go up in a right angels with yu holing the dumbells at just above head level. Do not let your arms drppo or sag, do not let your back curve to carry the weight, this is for your upper arms and chest to do. then slowly (for 5 seconds in wards and 5 seconds outwards) move the arms to toch together in front of your face, then out again to be side on to your head.

press ups are good

the plank is good

in either case, try attatching a weight to your shoulders, tricky to do but if you can will intensify the press up or plank.

bicep curls: stand up straight and hold the weight in your hand and have your arm pointing straight down to the floor, slowly bring your arm+hand, dumbell included, yo your shoulder, then SLOWLY bring it back down. Resist the urge to bring one shoulder up to compensate or to alter you posture by leaning to one side, if you can stand with your feet together or sit on a swiss ball (big blow up gym ball) and KEEP STILL! just move your arm alone, this will ensure you do the excersice properly.

tricept curls.
start off in the same position as before; have your arm pointing straight down to your feet, dumbell in arm. lean slightly forward but do not curve your spine, keep it straight, then relase the arm backwards as far as you can and forwards again, do this all very slowly.

All these excercises really need you to have guidance, its so easy to go wrong and render the excercise useless and a waste of your time, its best to go to a gym- even if its only once, to get advice on dong the excericise right.

you can get smaller sets of weights there are some good ones in the new argos catalogue, page 200

go to walmart, or acedemy. if u don't have access to those stores, just order some off of the internet. get those bowflex adjustable ones, that way, when u build up, u don't have to buy knew ones... just a thought. go to a gym, that may help.

Argos have some small hand weights (2lbs, 3lbs & 5lbs) for very good prices these should be good to start with..

Audrey, you can pick up dumbbells at places like Target or a sporting goods store cheaply. They range anywhere from 3 pounds to 50 pounds. I would think that will do it for you.

Eat less pies.

save money, use a bag of sugar or a tin of beans

My other half got this set from Argos. Here is the link
