How can i lose a stone in a month?!


Question: i'm a fifteen year old girl, and weight wise i've always lingered around 8 stone 8 (there're about 14lbs to a stone). however, i'm quite petite and very self concious so even at that weight i felt bigger than i should be.

just recently i've shot up past the 9 stone marker - it's absolute hell. i feel so fat and awful. i hate going out in public because of my weight, which i know is ridiculous. i KNOW i'm not fat, but i can't stop feeling that i am.

without any stupid crash diets (i'm a very high energy person and i have exams very soon, i need my energy too much!) could anyone give me any hints and tips for losing a stone in a short time, and for ideas on getting active and staying motivated?

Hi....how tall are you ? My 15 yr old is a uk size 12, and she stands 5ft 8. Weighs about 9st. I just asked her what she weighs and she doesnt know exactly. This is a nice decent weight for her age and height, she has a lovely figure butr she stands tall and holds her posture well. Reading your initial first line I was ready to offer pearls of wisdom then your additional info concerns me slightly.

Your body may be storing to compensate for going through puberty. You cannot have a period if you are too thin, any anorexic knows that, or any female unfortunate enough to be held at Belson during WWII. A period was the first sign to the team sent out to investigate Belson that health was at last being restored.

Dont use the 'D' word, it is not necessary. Instead use this factual piece of advice which you can carry with your for life.......

Put both yr hands together, then open up making a flat surface with the palms facing up ................ this is the actual size of yr own stomach. This "palm plate" size is a decent main meal portion. Anything else is just shovelling food down your neck for the sake of it.

I lost 3 stone after my 3rd child once I discovered this concept (I thought my stomach was the big bit in front!!) It was a Doctors programme so factual. I eat anything and everythng so long as it fits on a certain plate - no more at each sitting. So you can still have gateaux, Indian foods, roast dinners, pizza and still lose weight provided the portions are right.

Society doesn't know what a portion is anymore and it has therefore become known as PORTION DISTORTION.

I've watched some US programmes and they seem to have this concept of size Zero which is unnatural. 9st sounds fine to me.

I will be shot down in flames here but I ask yourself this........... who are the one that design the clothes ? Many designers are gay (males) and many are just sooooooo skinny, they design stuff then want to show them at Fashion shows so have to find the models to fit into their clothes. Most have body issues and are so thin they look as if they need a good meal anyway. It is not normal my dear.

eat less junk, exercise more, work out, play sports, eat healthy, drink water, not soft drinks or juice (juices put on lotsa weight)

calories down to 500, more excersize and drink plenty of fluids.don`t go striaght back to eating normaly though because you will put it back on just as quick.good luck.

It's called A...someing 20/50, you can't use it if your under 18 because it will be pretty bad...but my mom said she took it and lost 20 pounds!!! While your on it don't eat!

how tall are you? You say petite but I am 5'4 and weigh around 9 stone and I don't look fat. Stick to 3 healthy meals a day and no bad snacks. Have wholemeal bread for sandwiches with low fat fillings for lunch, dinner should be lean meats with either salad or vegetables. Drink more water and steer clear of sugary pop.
