Can you add inches to shoulder width through exercise?!

Question: Is it possible either through working the shoulder muscles or stretching the shoulders to increase the overall width of your shoulders (from one shoulder to the other)?

Yes. You'd want to work on the outer muscles (Delts) by doing side laterals. Raising the dumbbell straight out from your side so that your arm is parallel to the floor.

Don't forget to work the front and rear as well. You'll want to be proportion.

Use light weights to start to ensure proper form. Form is VERY important to reduce the chance of injury.

On a side note, working on your traps can help the appearance of wider shoulders as well. If you have a larger waistline, you can reduce this and work on your lats to create a V-taper. This also gives the appearance of a wider shoulder width.

Good Luck

sure can

Yeah it's possible. Swimmers have such broad shoulders cause they're always working them when they swim.

David hit the nail but don't forget your nutrition! Eat plenty of lean protein! Protein, the building blocks of muscle! Healthy food and good weight workouts should do it! Form is very important. Body For Life is a great book to help you understand how exercise and nutrition work together! Have fun!
