Why am I not seeing results?!

Question: I'm losing weight the right way for the first time. Exercise and eating right. I plan on doing this forever; not some diet....it's a lifestyle change. I mean that.

But I can't help but wonder why I'm not seeing results. I'm at the same weight for more than a week!

I'm doing 1hr aerobic and 20 minutes anarobic, and eating salads and sandwiches. Not junk food!

What's up? And when will I start to notice the fruits of my labors?

First of all it depends on age, how much muscle u have in your overall body weight, what ur BMI?,diet, exercises and hydration plan.

Salads can be high in calories and so can sandwiches it depends what your putting on and or in them? Cold cuts have high sodium content along with lots of bad preservatives. U need 5 or 6 small meals throughout your day. It's about the proper portion. U have to feed your body for it to lose weight.

Honestly if you'll stop concentrating on the scale and more of the routine of exercises, walking and getting your body to be fit so it can burn calories should be goal. Maybe your loosing inches and redefining your body shape? One week is not a long time. U didn't get out of shape in a week so it wouldn't be practical to expect it to magically come off. Exercise is most beneficial when your at your fat burning rate and maintaining that rate throughout your workout.

You said it best, it's a lifestyle change, a new way of thinking! Add some weight training to build muscle. Muscle burns fat! Weights can help tone and shape your body while helping to reduce weight. It's about short intense exercises to reach max fat burning. Proper technique and breathing are essential for proper flow of routine.

You should only be looking for 1 or 2 pounds a week weight loss if you are doing it "the right way."

Remember, an hour of exercise burns only a few hundred calories, and there are 3500 calories in a pound of fat.

Also, be very careful about what you eat - salads, sandwichs and energy drinks can be packed with calories if you are not careful.

How many calories are the sandwiches and salads? Are you using dressing? Eating cheese?

Eat smaller portions more often.

Like for breakfast:
1 cup oatmeal
1 light yogurt

snack
apple

lunch:
Whole grain bread
Turkey
No cheese no mayo
tomato and lettuce

snack
banana

Dinner
4 oz boneless skinless chicken
a heap of steamed veggies
