Do you think their are really to many fat people?!

Question: The other day I went out with my friend. We both way like under 125 which is rather thin for Americans but not really for other people. Anyways, we went and ate out and it seems at every table their was some large people. Nothing new of course but have you ever stopped and looked at how much the world caters to fat people? Food portions, Seat sizes and clothes... Clothes is what really gets me hung up, I mean you're telling me that I were a size 29 and some obese dude weres like a size 58 and our jeans are the same prize. Do you really think this is fair? Do you think if society stops catering to fat people they will get the picture and loose weight?

{{{{{{WHO AGREES WITH ME SAY I AGREE }}}}}}

I think there are way too many people who cannot spell.

I think there should be a fat tax.

Dunno but it's up to them how they want to live life.

too many, not "to many"....I don't know about too many fat people, but there are too many uneducated people.

yes

you mean overweight people

i think girls weigh more these days than in the past. and they are also getting taller.

we are becoming a bigger population

i agree
everywhere i go there are obese. ppl
its unhealthy and getting out of hand.
[im american]

wow.I think that is harsh but it is true. They probably would lose weight if we stopped catering to them so much, but then again we can't make their life completely miserable..I mean we do not know exactly why their fat,it might be more than a being hungry and fat thing. But yeah I think a big size like that should cost more..maybe it will get to them..

Sure, just like THERE are way too many people who can't spell THERE properly. Also, way too many who mistake LOOSE-meaning not tight, with LOSE-as in LOSE weight.

well, since the people catering to the fatties are probably also fat, i dont think anyone is going to be making it uncomfortable for themselves any time soon. I know where youre coming from. i dont understand how a size small should be the same price as an extra large... it takes more fabric to make the larger sizes. its weird. i get pissed when i go to restaurants because you have to pay for giant portions that you cant even eat

that would be nice if they lost weight..hehe. were did u go shopping at when u saw that the 2 jeans were the same price? when i shop and see a large pair of jeans they r like $10.00 more than they are for my size.

I agree, there a lot more severely obese people (no I'm not talking about healthy curvy figures, I'm talking about fast-food-eating unhealthy overweight people) in America, and YES everything in our society caters to them, and makes it easier for them to maintain their weight. I work in retail, and I have many women that come into my boutique, and they make rude remarks about how thin I am, and I need to eat, and I look about the same size as their 16 year old (I'm 21). NOW, If I reversed it, and I said "wow, you are so big, you kind of resemble an elephant, I don't think we have any clothes that would fit you in here", the offense would be taken, and I would lose my job. There's such a double standard, and this new movement for people to down naturally thin people, while glorifying unhealthy overweight people is just not right.

I think we should stop catering to ignorant skinny people... most men are larger than a 29. Thats just too skinny so i think we should STOP making that size... Does that make sense to you?? NO..

The only part I agree on is the food portions. No one needs to eat enough for three people, no matter what you size is.

There isn't a lot anyone can do about it. I've realised how many overweight people there are and it is quite shocking. I think the food proportions of all things should be changed but imagine how many complaints that would bring. There is no way to stop people eating so much, it is all down to them. The place where it all starts is in schools and homes. If schools began to serve healthy food instead of junk that would make a huge difference. However, we can't change what these kids eat when they get home. I don't think it is fair to increase the price of clothes for people who are overweight, you would find it unfair if in their position. The whole thing is a vicious cycle that would take a lot of work to get out of.

I have to disagree with you. While I'm neither excessively thin nor overweight, I feel I can give somewhat of an unbiased opinion.

I don't think that society 'caters' to people who are obese. Have you ever thought about how we treat them? I knew a girl in college who was really obese (probably 350-400 pounds, if I had to guess) and she was in no Way treated the same as the rest of the world. A lot of times I feel guilty for ever having made comments about her weight because I'm sure it made her feel terrible.

The food portions in this country have nothing to do with the weight of Americans...As far as seat sizes go - I don't know what to tell you...I've been to restaurants where the seats were quite large and restaurants where the seats were quite small. I think it just depends on where you go.

I'm also pretty sure fat people have to pay more for their clothes. Have you ever looked at a catalog or on a sign at a department store? Most say something along the lines of: sizes xs-xl $xx.xx, sizes 2xl-whatever $more than xx.xx.

We have to many obese people in America. I personally think we should stop criticizing fast food chains for everything thats going on. There trying to make a business by selling fast food. Thats not there fault, thats what there trying to do. We make the decision to take our kids and ourselves into the "fat joint" and eat there food. Stop eating at those places if there making you "large". I hate it when people complain about fast food places making them fat, your the one eating all of this food, there not forcing you to eat it. Im not saying that these places are O-So-Wounderful, I eat there maby once or twice every couple weeks. But to answer your question. We have to many fat people. Look at places like China. They used to be the most thinest people on earth. Now there getting like us, why? Because were opening fast food chains all over there.

Yes I agree with you. It seems like if you are in shape you are the minority and people look at you like "whats wrong with you? why aren't you fat?" Its an epidemic the majority of people are walking heart attacks and its thier own fault.

Do you think their ["there," not "their."] are really to [this should be "too"] many fat people?
The other day I went out with my friend. We both way [this should be "weigh"] like [this is not a similie, therefore use of "like" in this sentence is incorrect] under 125 which is rather thin for Americans but not really for other people. Anyways, we went and ate out and it seems at every table their was ["were," not "was"] some large people. Nothing new of course but have you ever stopped and looked at how much the world caters to fat people? [<Bad sentence structure] Food portions, Seat [<Incorrect use of capitialization] sizes and clothes... Clothes is ["Are" not "is"] what really gets me hung up, I mean you're telling me that I were ["wear," not "were"] a size 29 and some obese dude weres [Again, it's "wear," not "were."] like [<Another incorrect use of the word "like." This is not a similie.] a size 58 and our jeans are the same prize. Do you really think this is fair? Do you think if society stops catering to fat people they will get the picture and loose weight?

I was lenient in correcting your three-footed way of communicating. There were many more mistakes, but I realized it was pointless trying to communicate those things to you.

I think when society grows unaccepting of stupid, illiterate people, people with lazy tendencies will have to actually learn while they are in school, sitting around doing nothing with their brains.

Good luck with that.

Catering to fat people... like stop selling fatty sugar loaded foods, bigger clothes, ... don't we cater to all self-inflicted situations... we sell -cigarettes, medications for a lot of "self inflicted ailments", we sell cars, so people don't have to walk... hardly anybody carries their laundry outside to hang up and dry, or when gardening "pick off potato bugs of their potato plants" to prevent using deadly chemicals...
we all choose "the easier way ", even if it is more harmful to us and the environment....
It takes self discipline to change... and some struggles are harder for some... I have no problem staying thin, but I am lazy, and take the car, when I could just bike or walk to my destination.... We are all guilty of giving in to temptation...

Obesity is an increasing problem in wealthy countries as is gambling, alcoholism, drug addiction, homelessness, unemployment, etc etc. Each problem has its financial cost on society. Have you ever thought that sectors of society actualy gain from peoples problems.
