I am an excessive eater. I snack constantly. How can I lose weight?!?!

Question: My body is always craving food and I don't know why. I have PCOS, and so I know that's a factor. But I mean, I'll start exercising, keep it up for a week, and then my life just gets too out of control and busy to exercise regularly. My weight fluctuates, one day I'll be 183 and a few days later I'll be 186.5. I eat a lot of healthy food, but I over-indulge in that, too. I'm a size 14 and I want to be a size 8. Any tips on how I can manage more weight loss, not crave so much food, and fit in the exercise? How can I majorly suppress my appetite without taking pills? Please help!

Honestly, it can be a whole number of things. healt issue, hormonal, stress/anxiety/depression, certain foods release things to make you hungry, you just like eating, etc. Like you said, your life gets too busy and out of control and busy, right there alone thats stress/anxiety. Now for the weight fluctuation, you were probably under-educated or misled, because weight is supposed to fluctuate. yes, it fluctuates from day and night week by week and can even go up and down as drastically as 10 lbs.

Why? First of all the weight of your clothes/shoes, etc, then water weight and weight of food, and other things, time of day, all of these things have impact, so if your weight is only fluctuating by a few pounds, its totally normal and expected as it happens to me too. I heat healthy food too from the vitamin shoppe, over indulge, and u still can get heavier from it.

The problem is, the only sure way to lose weight in a healthy way is consume less calories, but still consume the calories from healthy foods.

My tips are, they actually have foods out there that curb hunger, make you feel more full, and give you that extra punch that you ned to keep you going that a salad or a rice cake (lol) won't.

My suggestion, is Slim Fast Shakes for one. Each has about 180 calories, and makes you feel VERY alive and active thanks to all the ingredients and vitamins in it, and you don't feel as hungry afterwards.

Protein bars put too much protein in them. Try those and other types of supplements instead of regular food.

I mean EAT regular food, but in small portions, smaller than you do and also try these supplements.

To MAJORLY suppress your appetite do not under ANY circumstances take caffeine. This is actually proven to make you more hungry, not less. Really, look it up. it's a new study. surprise surprise.

I'm a male and I'm 6 feet tall. I weighed 205 lbs in late 2006.

Now early 2008, I'm at 165-170, and I did it the healthy way, through eating healthy, slim fast shakes, no caffeine or supplements, and surprisingly

light exercize. very light. I dont exercize too often. maybe once a week , sometimes none, sometimes 3 times. its irregular, but its all thanks to diet,

and my doctors say im healthier than ever.

sew ur lips closed. Worked for me.

Each day you should try to limit what you eat.

well first of all ur allways eating bcause u are bored so find some actiivites also work out on the side to help keep ur wieght down

Eating due to a psychological need. Get to a counselor to analyze that. Also, get a picture of a person you want to look like and put it on your bathroom mirror and tell yourself you will look like her.

First of all stop eating excessively and stop snacking constantly. Try to find something to do once in a while so your hands will be busy. It sounds rude, but then you won't be able to pick up food. Get out and take walks at least if you refuse to exercise.

I was that size and now I'm down to a size 9
why don't you try to snack on fruits it will help and
try going for walks to keep your mind of eating, I hope this work for you and stay away from sugar.
Drink water instead of soft drinks...
Good luck.

This is what I did when I wanted to lose weight:

1) Made up my mind to not mind being hungry. (Really.)
2) Did #1 by remembering how I wanted to look & how being hungry led to that.
3) Prevented snacking by remembering how I had become overweight and how I did not want to be chubby anymore.
4) Recognized that the momentary pleasure of eating led to the long-term dissatisfaction of being chubby.
5) Ate yogurt & fruit for breakfast.
6) Ate anything I wanted to for lunch (often a big salad)
7) Drank tea or a vegetable drink for dinner.
8) Walked an hour every single day.
9) Ate celery every day.
10) Avoided sweets & refined carbs.
11) Recognized that sometimes I ate for non-sensical reasons, such as boredom.
12) NO SNACKING !

Good luck to you. I lost 13 pounds in less than a month and kept it off for more than 6 months by staying away from the sweets & refined carbs.

;-)

Hi, I think you got some good answers here already but I will try to add something..I agree that you are snacking 'cos you are bored...I also agree that you need to have some more self control and have 'mind over matter'..your body has formed a bad habit and you are addicted to food..its like giving up cigarettes..its hard...you need to control your cravings and your habit will stop..
I am a size 6-8 and 5'3" and want to be size 4-6 so I understand how hard it is.
Fibre will help you to feel full...breakfast cereal for example...some are high in fibre..you need slow burn carbs so no white pasta or rice or bread....brown only!
You can eat as much salad...leaves,carrots,radish,cucumber etc...that you like!
Soup will help you to feel full.
I drink water with lemon juice and cayenne pepper (master cleanse) to help detoxify and I drink about 2litres a day.
I also exercise 1 hour a day.
Honey you need control and I wish you well and strength..good luck! I know its hard :-)
