How many calories should i eat a day?!


Question: I am a 15.5 year old girl. i weigh 110 . im 5"2'. i think i am a little chunky. so i wanna loose 10 pounds. how many calories a day should i have?

i dont excerise that much. i go to school, which i walk 3 miles everyday. thats pretty much it.

Your ideal weight given your height and age is about 103 lbs. If you are muscular this may be a bit different.

To maintain the weight that you have now you need to consume 2000 calories per day. So if you cut 250 calories out of your daily diet (or 1750 taken in per day) you should be able to lose 2 lbs per months. It should take you about three months at this rate to match your ideal weight. That is assuming you do not incorporate exercise.

A healthy weight loss is no more than about 3 or 4 lbs per month. It also would be more idealistic to maintain your caloric intake, and up your energy expenditures. This can be as simple as riding a bike three times a week.

Whatever the case is, please, please be careful to not get carried away in weight loss. Your weight is not excessive currently, but there is not anything wrong with becoming a more active person either.
