Can eating too much fruit make you sick?!


Question: I work nights at my job and because of the hours, and what is open I tend to eat mostly fruit. I do eat other foods, I get plenty of protein and vegetables and dairy and all that but at work I tend to eat fruit and a lot of it. I will eat a container of raspberries, a quart of strawberries, some canetlope or watermelon, maybe a few oranges. Sometimes a kiwi or avacado.... Anyways, my coworkers said that much fruit will make me sick, will it?

As long as you feel okay, what are you worried about? Your co-workers probably stuff themselves with all kinds of crap and wish they were just like you!

it will give you diarrhea

Too much of anything will make you sick.

Fruit can contain a lot of acid and if you eat a lot of that without balancing it, you can cause some discomfort. Fruit has a high water concentration and can cause diarrhea.

fruit is good, but you seem to be eating a lot. there isnt much in fruit, only sugar. try eating protein like nuts, these are good for you and will keep hunger away. also, fruit is very acidic which cant be good for your teeth and stomach. try some variation in your diet!

It's good to eat fruit but when you eat an overdose of a certain vitamin (other than B,Cs) you may get sick.

But I don't think it'll pose as a real problem. Especially oranges, strawberries. Vitamin C doesn't get stored in your body.

Just don't bloat yourself.

Oh yeees. I remember eating 15 bannans as a dare. really stupid idea, got to 5 and threw up everywhere. Also had runs for 3 days, and had no energy sometimes. Fruit is good for you but you need to balance it with protein (meats) and glucose (sugars). Good luck with your problem!
