Yes, but it may get harder to do once you've lost the water weight.

few key suggestions :
1) Avoid alcohol (its high in calories)
2) When training wear layers with full slevees (no shorts or t-shirts) this helps you sweat it out
3) Avoid carbohydrates (pastas,rice,potatoes etc)
4) Eat mostly lean meat, veg and fruit
5) Sit-ups only strengthen abdominal muscles (does not get rid of fat) for this you need to sweat it out by running
the fastest weight loss is always in the 1st few days you should aim to loose 2 pound a week or else your body will go into starvation mode and slow right down your weight loss also the faster you lose the quicker you put the weight back on when you start eating normally with the added bummer of more weight!
