My confidence is at an all time low, due to my weight. Please help?!

Question: I'm 16.
I weigh 12.6 stone. Which is 176.4 lb.

According to a BMI chart test I did a few weeks back, I am very close to being obese.

I feel really low about myself at the minute, and I keep turning to food as a comfort.

I'm trying to lose weight, trying to cut chocolate out of my diet, but whenever I'm bored, even when I'm not hungry, I go and get a bar of chocolate, or a bowl of cereal, or a bag of crisps, or I go to the local take-away.

Please help try and motivate me!

What exercises should I do?

Thank-you in advance for any answers.

Trust me, you just have to change your lifestyle. It is never easy to give up any food when you enjoy eating so be sure and eat what you want in moderation and make exercise a part of your lifestyle. You are 16 so starting now can get you in the habit for life. I exercise differently according to the season. If it is warm, I like to be outside walking and when it is cold indoor exercises like exercise dvd's. Good luck!!!

For starters, maybe you can try to go for a walk when you feel the urge to eat chocolate when you are not hungry. That alone will help your situation.

its important for you to find a different way of making yourself feel better if you're feeling down, and eating for comfort, tempting though it is, is only mkaing things worse as you know. you may find that a good walk around somewhere you like can be very therapeutic, and exercise resleases endorphines within your body, which is also what chocolate does! : ) so whenever you fancy another bar of chocolate try by-passing it and go out for a walk. walking is aerobic exercise which is the best type of exercise for burning fat.
hope some of that helps
: )

agree with the other persons answer bout walkin wen hungry. also u say u get hungry wen bored... so dont give urself time 2 b bored,.... keep busy 24/7 housework, meeting up with friends, overtime at work, some beauty treatments, going out clubbing and dancing ur *** off, find hobbies/ interests... all these will not only keep u away 4rm the biscuit tin, they will boost ur self esteem... good luckxxx

hello. sounds to me like you need to find a hobby. i have had weight issues to eating out of being bored or eating to celebrate or eating because i am depressed...yeah its a sucky thing. sounds to me like you are not obese but overweight theres a big difference. have you tried doing something else when you get the urge to eat taking a walk reading a book talking on the phone with someone?? i know its easly said not done, but its worth a try...i would also try to maybe find a weight support group or get your friends involved even if there not over weight tell them you need there help...if there good friends they will. tell them you need to walk or go to the mall and walk or something. just need to keep your mind off food. and when you have to eat something....eat something healthy or eat fruit if you want something sweet. also if you can right before your going to eat something bad ask yourself do i really want to put that in my body is it worth the feelings im going to have after. hope it helps.
