I'm unusually tired...is something wrong with me????!


Question: I get 8-9 hours of sleep per night. I'm dieting, but I'm still getting 1500-2000 calories per day. I exercise 15-40 minutes 5 x per week. I work 20-30 hours a week, but I have a very light school load this year. Yet, I've been really tired lately. Some days is worse than others, but I just feel like going back to bed. Is something wrong with me???

Could be hormonal if you are sexually active get a pregnancy test that will be the first thing a Dr checks so you may as well confirm it yourself. If that isn't it you may want to keep a diet journal and see if you are eating too much sugary foods like soda, candy and cookies/cakes - sugar is a real energy drain it will give you a temporary boost but over all leave you fatigued. You may have mono, or you might just be anemic. Try getting more iron in your body - good sources include dark green veggies, meats, GrapeNuts cereal, etc. Take a multivitamin. Also, make sure you're eating enough protein so that any highs and lows from carbs and sugars get moderated.
