1) don't require any equipment
2)can be done in your own home or while traveling
3)and you won't injure yourself doing them

Cardiovascular exercises will probably be your best choice. Some cardio exercises burn more than others. Swimming is the best exercise but very hard to do on a regular basis. An elliptical machine with the moving handle bars would work because you are working both your upper and lower body. The rowing machine is an often overlooked cardio machine that does a great job of burning calories.

You can also do circuit training. Circuit training (in a nut shell) is doing all of the machines one right after another without much rest. Try working on a machine for about a minute and then move on to the next. This will keep you moving so it won't be boring and you'll be targeting almost all of you muscles.
