I heard this about water, but I don't believe it's true..Help?!


Question: Someone told me that if all you do is drink water all day and don't eat anything that you lose weight. Of course, you'll pee it out but you'll still lose weight.
*I'm not thinking about trying it, I'm just wondering. I love food too much. :)
So is it true?

No this is partly true. Water does help you to lose weight but if you do not eat then you are not getting anywhere. The key because water is about 60% of our body weight is to drink a lot and yes you will probably lose weight from only do this. But if you attempt to balance your diet and exercise water is an accesory which will help with this process. Please do not stop eating! If you do lose weight you WILL gain it all back once you start to eat again. It is simple not worth it. Do it the healthy way. Water AND Food and exercise.

yes it's true. you can live up to approx. 2 weeks without any food if you drink water.

You know if you drink too much water, your cells can drown and you can die? It is a proven fact, and you should never just drink water and not drink or eat anything else.

yup its probally true. But you will first gain weight from all of the water but then loose it. It will last for like 4 hours though, because when you eat something else youll just gain the weight back.

no that is not true. if you drink too much water, you will die.

You'll lose weight but its called anorexia and definitely not healthy. If you fast for a few days your body will go into starvation mode and then the next time you eat every you consume will get stored as fat.

But how healthy is it? and if you eat something after, will you gain like 30 lbs?

Well, guess what? You'll probably die before you loose any weight! Too much water on an empty stomach will kill you by diluting your electrolyte(salt)levels to a lethal stage.

not true. yes of course you need water to live. you should drink a lot but you also need carbs. Carbs are the energy for your cells. You need protein, vitamins, etc. You cannot only drink water you are harming your body more than hurting it. You will be unhealthy and have no good nutrition.

Nooo! Don't listen to that. Not eating and just drinking water won't help you loose weight at all, it's just tormenting yourself! As a matter of fact, you should only drink eight glasses of water a day, and eat a good portioned meal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. (I should also add that the food should be healthy. XD) So no, this isn't true at all. The key to loosing weight is eating and drinking just enough. And I should know, because I used to be overweight and tried this, then I tried eating less and eating healthier foods. And besides, if you don't eat and just drink water, you'll die! XP

Yeah, but you could also die.

you would probubly get sick and then throw it up (thats what happened to my sister)
