Question: well i was leg pressing today and i felt a strong sharp stinging/burning feeling in the middle of my quad. what is it? should i be worried? track starts in a week so whats the best thing to do

If the pain went away after you finished, you should be ok. Be sure to stretch at least twice a day too help with circulation and get plenty of protein to aid in repair and growth.
If the pain is still there, especially at rest, then somethings wrong. If you were on the leg press I doubt it is a pulled muscle, but rather you tore something. If this is the case, then you should see you doctor to be safe and to make sure that you let it heal properly. Also, if it is a tear, you might see some brusing in the area.
