who knows how many calories but I assure you it's a lot, most likely somewhere around the 1000 - 1500 range per 100 laps, of course it depends how hard and fast you're swimming. Drink a EAS Myoplex Lite protein drink after your workout. Get the chocolate fudge, they taste better. Trust me, they work.

The amount of calories you burn depends on a lot of things, like how long the pool is, how much you weigh, and how fast you swim.

As for the food, you should try Clif bars.

100 laps of swimming pool daily? that's 100 x 50m, that means you swim 5 kms a day? OMG that's more then I walk in two weeks.

100 laps is quite a bit if your just starting and if your just starting you want to start out small like somewhere between an 800-1200 and throw in a 200 kick. Even if you do only swim a little every day your going to burn quite a few calories because swimming requires you to use every part of your body, but I cant really say how many. Sometimes swimming can have the opposite effect on losing weight as well as the pool is should be pretty cold if your swimming laps and your body will try to keep itself warm by adding extra layers of fat. And for the diet I dont know about slow release energy foods, but I would reccommend alot of carbs, noodles, peanut butter etc
