I am a male, 184 centimetres tall, who once weighed 210 pounds. I just decided that i had enough of being fat and that I wanted to become slim, well-toned and healthy. So, within 6 months, I lost 50 pounds (yay!) and got a great condition. How did i do it? I did not listen to all those self-proclaimed experts with their points-based diet and their warnings that losing weight is difficult. I just started thinking before i ate, and that meant eating fruits (lots and lots), vegetables (especially for dinner, paprikas, tomatoes, a bit of fish cooked in olive oil... yummy! ) and fish instead of meat. Also, eating just 3 meals a day makes a lot of difference. Of course, in between you can eat fruit (just no bananas, those are very rich in sugar). Also, switch to the brownest bread you can, preferably with the seeds still showing in it. Its much healthier than white bread.

But eating differently isnt going to be enough to get in shape. You have to start MOVING! Try jogging for 30 minutes in the morning, and, if you can get yourself to do it, for 30 minutes in the evening too (if you cant manage that long, any amount of jogging is healthy for you). You will notice the difference in how you feel immediately, and within a week or two, you will start seeing it, too!

Do not use heavy weights but use weights and do some toning but more reps and less weight...Watch what you eat ...and do cardio also...

Hi. I'm exactly like you. You need to get a good mix of cardio and weights. But in order to keep lean muscle and not bulky muscle you need to do low weights but high reps. I start off with 5kgs lifting at the gym for upper body and do 4 lots of 16 reps - by the time I get to the 16th one, my arms are shaking and that's just with 5kilos. Try to get a mix of 70 % cardio and 30% weights and together with a sensible eating plan you will lose weight and tone up at the same time. Good luck.

diet, plenty of cardio and to tone you want to lots of repetitions of exercises with low weights I.e. 12-15 reps.

i think its really about lessening salt content in the body - because salt retains water. might help.
you can always use over the counter fat burners - while doing your work out .

plus in your work outs keep off heavy weights - just use lighter ones with more reps. :-)
