Are french fries...?!

Question: EVER good for you? Or are they ever ok to eat? I absolutely LOVE fries, esp McDonald's, and I literally crave fries every damn day...I eat very well so I always think I can sneak em in to my diet, but I always tell myself they are bad and don't eat them...so is there a way for them to be "good"?

The good part is that if you deprive yourself completely of things you love, you will eventually binge on them. If you allow yourself a little bit once in a while, it won't kill you. Basically, potatoes offer very little nutritional value, and the only other ingredients are oil and salt, neither of which is good for you in large quantities.

Fries rock.

The best thing to do is NOT eat them. If you get started with eating them your whole plan could fall apart.
Small fries at McDonalds have 250 calories in them; the same as a chocolate bar! Plus, that is only the amount in the size you get with a kids meal!

No. Not ever.

Fried food is hazardous to your health, no matter what you eat of it. Frying foods changes the shape of the fat molecules in the food such that, when your body tries to incorporate those fats into the walls of your body' cells, they won't "fit" right. This can lead to a host of problems you can read about, starting with the link I provided below.

Not good for you and highly addictive....espesially McDonalds (love them too) Cut them from your diet then after a couple of months you could indulge every once in a while, just be sure to have someone to share a small order with.

I don't know how you're saying you eat very well and have fries all the time at the same time. They are covered in grease and "simple" carbs which are bad. I don't think anyone could tell you that french fries are good for you. There is about 500 calories in medium french fries mcdonalds. One meal during the day shouldn't go much over 500 calories by itself.

It's fattening for you.
Especially the ones from McDonalds.

If you make them yourself, they are pretty good. My Mom makes weight watcher fries for us. :]]]

No, they are not. You may be able to eat 2 or 3 to satisfy a craving but it's best to substitute the fruit cup in exchange for the fries in a combo meal.

Check out the calories and fat content in one serving:

High carb and high fat together are a heart attack waiting to happen. You crave them because you are addicted to them like someone is addicted to drugs. The best thing to do is break the addiction.

I have fries maybe every couple of months as a treat and that's it.
