I've lost weight and now I'm not losing anymore? Help!?!

Question: I started dieting around Dec. 07. I have been losing an average of 7 pounds per month. I incresed my workout within the past couple days, because I haven't been losing much this past month. I haven't changed anything in my diet, and I started working out (walking) a little more a day. I use to walk about 2 miles a day now I'm around 3 1/2 to a 4 mile walk per day. I don't have much access to machines, etc. I want to just walk and keep it that way. Is the reason I am having a hard time losing weight because of muscle building in my legs or something? Help me please?

I've lost about 14 pounds so far.

Walking is a wonderful way to kick off a new weight loss plan but your body will adjust to it very quickly and your weight loss will plateau. The best way to keep shedding those pounds is to mix it up a bit. You don't have to have any expensive equiptment, just grab a jump rope, do jumping jacks or dance around you room like a mad woman when no one is around!! haha You will use a few different muscles in those different exercises and trick your body into thinking it is something completely new and you can boost your metabolism back up!! Hope it helps!

congrats you've hit a plattoue change something in ur diet or excercise train harder

That's normal. Your body adjusted to the new lifestyle and lowered your metabolism just to keep at this current weight. It's a way your body resists weight loss. If you're already at normal weight, then recognize that your body prefers to stay at this weight and quit forcing it to lose some more. If you're still above normal weight, change something about your diet or work out routine to trick your body. Maybe eat slightly more for a couple days and then cut foods down by half. Run more instead of walk.
