Can eating too little make you gain weight?!

Question: For example- in a day I might eat

1/2 cup multi grain cereal with milk
A Salad with lite ceaser dressing
a banana
a piece of toast and a protein drink

Is this too little to be eating? I've heard that eating too little can make you not lose weight or make you gain, is this true?

Yes, you are definitely eating too little. If you go below 1200-1500 calories you risk slowing down your metabolism, which will either cause weight gain or no weight loss. Obvisouly, if you eat this long enough you will lose weight, but as soon as you start eating more, you will just gain it back. Try eating 6 small meals a day. That way you will never feel too full and you won't feel deprived either. Also, try getting in at least 20 to 30 minutes of exercise a day.

Eating too little causes your body to cling to whatever fat you do put in it because it's in starvation mode and doesn't know when it'll next be fed.

Try and eat at least 1200 cals a day.

It's hard to answer this for you because I don't know your size, weight, etc.

But yes you can actually gain some weight from eating too little food. Your body will think that you are not getting enough food each day so it holds on to more of the it and stores it as fat. It's just your body trying to protect you from malnutrition.
