Answers: is that possible wouldnt you faint or be dizzy neverthe less

To the person who said that their friend fasted for 7 months..they are LYING. You DEFINITELY cannot live for more than like 2 months without food(plus if it was possible the person would lose a lot more than 40 pounds)

Fasting is actually good for you(despite what others say on here). It cleanses out your intestines and gives your stomach a much needed rest.

There are people who eat like 3500 calories a day and don't get sick, so why would you not eating make you sick? As long as you aren't doing it for a very long time period, are not doing much activity, and get all of your fluids and vitamins, then you will be fine!!!!!! And the only way you will gain the weight back afterwards is if you start binging or eating too many calories at once. When you fast, you have to ease you body back into food slowly.

yes it is possible, although miserable. My bro's neighbor just did it recently and lost 26 pounds.

not healthy at all... and I don't know if its really possible. You would wash out your system of all nutrients.

I know somebody who did that for about 7 months, having nothing but water and taking vitamins. They lost about 40 pounds. Then they put it all back and then some within a year when they went back to eating normally.

You're miserable when you do that, and you eventually have to go back to eating. It's not worth it.

its call ramadan a muslim fast

Fasting is a way of cleansing the body of toxins and dead or diseased tissues, and giving the gastro-intestinal system a rest. When food is not eaten for a long period though, the body looks for other ways to find energy, such as drawing on glucose from the liver's stored glycogen and fatty acids from stored fat and eventually moving on to vital protein tissues. Body, brain and nerve tissue depend on glucose for metabolism. Once the glucose is significantly used up, the body's metabolism changes, producing ketone bodies (acetoacetate, hydroxybutyrate, and acetone). Even where this transition to alternative forms of energy has been made, some parts of the brain still require glucose, and protein is still needed to produce it. If body protein loss continues, death will ensue.

you only lose water weight and muscle.
