Any AB excersize hurts my neck?!

Question: Well, I am looking to get good abs. But ever since I was little, AB excersizes always strained my neck. I have read many guides on proper form, and to my knowledge am doing them flawlessly.

I read somewhere that my neck straining means that my neck muscles are trying to hold up the load, rather than my abs.

But how do I make it so that doesnt happen? I've tried relaxing my neck, but that doesnt work, I've tried putting my fist between my chin and neck, I've tried putting my hands behind my ears but not supporting my head with them, I've tried everything, but something is still not right.

So I ask you, the people of yahoo answers to answer my question.

How do I do ab excersizes without my neck hurting?

I own a health and nutrition business and have taught fitness. When you do your crunches, lace your fingers under the base of your skull at the junction of your neck so that both head and neck are supported. Then make sure your eyes are looking straight at the ceiling, and that your chin is pointing at the ceiling and blow out as you come up. If your eyes are looking at your chest or at your legs or at a wall, then you will be hurting your neck. Those eyes and chin must be straight up, up, up!
After your crunches, do lots of stretches. Stretch on your back, feet pointed straight down, arms above your head, and reach for the sky! Turn on your belly and do the "dog stretch" and then arch your back up, chin tucked in, blow out while doing your "cat stretch". These will help to stretch it all out so it won't hurt so much.

if you are doing things such as crunches or situps where you have to use your neck, try to look up at the ceiling while you do it =]

just try supporting your head with your hands. But before that, try to follow this video
