How long did you lose weight before you hit a plateau?!

Question: And how much weight did you lose?

Answers: And how much weight did you lose?

I hit my plateau after 3 months and15lbs of weight loss. Its starts to get harder to lose weight if you are already within your healthy weight limit or bmi

I think plateaus hit people differently. For me personally, the closer I am to my goal weight, the harder it is for the scale to budge. Make sure you increase your intensity or switch to a different activity every 4-6 weeks. This way your body won't get bored. Good Luck

15lbs before I hit a plateau. I had to change my exercise to start losing weight again.

about 30lbs and that was that for me....

About six months. But I was also tracking my calories very carefully and targetting 1-2 lbs of fat loss a week (averaged about 1.5.) Because I took a more conservative, measured approach to how much I lost, I didn't plateau as quickly. I also found it MUCH easier to maintain my new weight this way.

So I'm not sure if I hit a plateau as much as I hit an equlibrium point. I pretty much hit the my baseline on weight, with bodyfat of around 8.5 to 9%. I've added about five pounds since October, but some of that is muscle. Not too bad. Still kept my 32" waist.

I went from about 190 to 167 in six months. So I lost a little over 20 pounds in six months without losing much muscle.

I hit a plateau recently at 15 pounds lost and I seem to gain and lose the same two pounds now. Since I live where the Winter is cold, I am looking forward to warmer weather again so that I can get out walking regularly. That helps.
