All those things are temporary. The weight gain is not that much and easily dealt with later. As far as what to do Chantix works pretty well. Also, nicotine patches, gum, lozenges work-not as well but pretty well.
Exercise and support groups can help as well. Check for nicotine anonymous groups in your area. Or, call your MD or local hospital. They may know of some groups for smoking cessation. Do not worry if you slip up and have a few smokes. The vast majority of smokers do NOT quit sucessfully the first time. Like other addictions, it may take you a few trys to get that monkey off your back. My sister and husband are trying to quit. They take all the money they would have spent on cigs and put it in a jar. They plan to take a summer vacation with the savings.
Good luck.

there are no bad points to quitting smoking - it can only be an improvement to your health

Nicocure is a herbal supplement that will help you quit smoking in 30 days or less, guaranteed! http://Quit-Smoking.ze.cx

Hmm, I smoked for 2.5-3 years and one day my bf decided out of nowhere that he doesn't want to smoke anymore and for some reason joined him on that "cold turkey day" and we still can't figure out how we managed to it "cold turkey". Anyways, we've been chewing gum like crazy for the first month or so because they say that smokers always need something in their mouth so chew on some gum or have a lollipop or candy for the moment then have some coffee or you can always try that nicorette gum, although we've never used it.

Cold Turkey brave I've been given up 6 months and still need a nicorrete gum and i have put weight on but i do feel better for it good luck stick with it if you can

Hey, great job, keep up the good work and remember all the money your not burning though buying cigarettes.

Your breathing will get easier and you won't stink of smoke and your teeth will stay whiter. Your breath will not smell like an ashtray, and you won't be burning holes in furniture or you car seats. And your boss might see you working more than the other smokers outside on a break and get a raise or promotion.

Keep going, well done!

Hello,

I quit cold turkey (not a single one!) in december '07. I'm in my 20s and started when I was 15. Let me tell you there are some BAD points to quitting.

- constipation

- urges to smoke

- night sweats

- restlessness

- OVEREATING

- nausea

The reason they don't talk about the "bad points" is because the good outweighs the bad when quitting smoking. I can tell you now, that yes I do sometimes still crave a cigarette - do I go have one? Nope. I am very happy not to be contributing to cancer and being able to breathe properly, having extra cash, and feeling better overall. I CAN tell you it does get better with time! I have people in my life that have passed away from cancer and it's a really horrible life and end. My suggestion is you build up your willpower and start to concentrate on the positives to quitting instead of the negatives to not quit. Also smoking cessation classes may benefit you. good luck!

Wow.

How about looking at all the TOXINS that have to get out of your body.

Think of this.
