Does the Slim Fast shake thing work?!


Question: I've never been fat. I wouldn't say I am now, but I would love to lose 10 lbs. I'm also exercising at Gold's Gym and eating better, but I heard drinking 2 of them a day (the Optima kind) plus one meal will def work. Any thoughts?

It will work because it's just a method of calorie restriction and portion control. The only problem (especially if you're working out) is that you may find yourself too hungry drinking only the shake for breakfast and lunch. Give it a try. It should work well as long as you're not getting too hungry in between meals. Add healthy snacks in between anyways.

It's good I have used it but found it's cheaper to drink a glass of water 15 minutes before a small meal.

It has worked for some people to lose weight initially. It is a sugar based product and there are much healthier ways to lose weight.

Slim Fast is short term, you'll lose weight but your not eating properly and your body is not getting proper nutrients.

You'll lose weight but as soon as you come off the Slim Fast then you'll put on weight again (probably more than before).

Don't look for the fastest way to lose weight look at changing your lifestyle with exercise and healthy eating. There are no short cuts to permanent weight loss.

The only thing that works is improving what you eat and how much along with exercise.
We don't like exercising or changing the way we eat so we try to find a gimmick that works. Weight loss isnt quick and easy. it will take time and effort. I'm not saying you have to become a health nut, but make sure your expectations are real. 10 lbs is doable but dont expect it to happen in a day.
also remember that if you do that to lose 10 lbs, when you stop, it will be easy to gain that back. That is why they are not the best idea. you need to find a healthy lifestyle that allows you to maintain a healthy body. muscle weighs more than fat so don't get too caught up in numbers.
