Spot reduction is not possible. Just do the norm- sensible diet, exercise, etc... For your exercise try one exercise per body part(all 10 of them) one set-hi reps(appox 30-40) using a medium weight, no more than 15 seconds rest between sets, it works. I'm 51 @5'10"-170lbs-17% boby fat also I've been working out over 35 yrs and a master trainer. Don't get caught up in all the fitness hype. A little goes a long way. Best of luck.

You can't spot-reduce fat. You can, however, do some core-toning exercises to firm up your sides. Try doing bicycle crunches, Pilates, crunches on a stability ball or Bosu ball. Pair that with cardiovascular exercise and a good diet.
A scale at the doctor's office is probably more accurate.
