Can cutting out the diet soda make you lose weight?!

Question: I drink 2 or three diet Pepsi's a day. I was wondering if if the salt content is making me retain water.

It might a little bit, but Diet Pepsi only has probably 2 or 3% of your daily sodium per can. I think the artificial sweeteners can sometimes make people hungrier or cause you to not realize when you're full (something like that), also caffeine crashes can sometimes make people want to snack.

Overall though I don't think it would make much difference, you might lose a tiny bit of water weight but as long as the rest of your diet is OK and you drink enough water then I doubt it would do anything much at all for you. The sweeteners aren't really healthy and the phosphates are bad for your teeth and bones, but in terms of weight I don't think diet pop makes any difference unless you drink a TON of it (in that case you'd retain water weight from the sodium & dehydration).

<>< I have heard that it works. I tried it but it did not work for me.

yes, its actually a fact that diet soda's make u hungrier and thirstier, so try water or gatorade...less acidic so its better for ur body too..hope i helped

Yes, it would help you lose weight, because caffeine and the carbonation do make you retain fluid. If you can't do with out all of them at least cut out half first instead of all. Good Luck!
