Should I ride my bike or jog?!


Question: Which is a more rigorous workout? Which one burns more calories? Keep in mind that everyday I do a lot of walking and speedwalk for exercise in the evening.

Jogging burns a lot more calories then cycling, and is a better cardio-vascular activity.

I think cycling is better, far more muscle groups used when riding.

jog with sprints and you will burn em up..............

Jogging is the more rigorous workout. With cycling, you do not get the upper body workout than you do when you pump your arms when jogging. You do burn more calories while jogging too.

Jogging is the more jarring workout though, so if you have special conditions, such as bone or joint problems, cycling is probably a better choice for you.

Hard to say which is a more rigourous workout, because both depend on the intensity. Would suggest alternating the two workouts....may help keep you from getting bored.

Ride your bike - otherwise, the jogging is likely to end up giving you knee problems in about 20 years or so.
