What will help me stop binging?!

A lot of people binge when upset, depressed, stressed, etc....."emotional eating"....my trick to keep from binging when I don't want to is get out of the house....or brush my teeth than take a sip of OJ...that kills any cravings I may have had pretty quickly.

Try to eat less the rest of the time.

eat regularly

Give away all your food to a food pantry.

Stop buying twinkies. Buy oranges and apples instead.

chewing gum. it worked for me.

I have that problem too...I just try to tell myself that I'll feel gross after I binge and I always do. Sometimes that helps, sometimes it doesn't. I find though that if I can get out of the house and away from the kitchen then i'm not as tempted so try to go for a walk or engage in an activity that doesn't involve food or going near the kitchen.

take a shower, do your hair/makeup, chew gum, get out of the house or get away from food. Think of what your ultimate goal is and motivate yourself.

1-2 gallons of water a day
lots of fiberous foods
coffee
running in place
eat 5 meals a day (small of course)

protien! (eggs nuts, chicken) all these foods are high in protien. protien helps you feel fuller much longer than other foods. eat some peanut butter on crackers for a snack. aslo drink a glass of water BEFORE each meal. it will fill you up so you dont eat as much. if you must must eat something eat grapes. they are fat free and are great when you have munchies. if you want something salty try flavored rice cakes. BBQ is my favorite :)
avoid eating while doing something else (computer tv reading) you will eat way more than you realise. if you like to eat while you read, potion the snack out before sitting down. so then you know how much you are going to eat..
