Is it possible that i'm bloated because of to much salt intake ?!

Question: What I've noticed for the past few months is that even a week and sometimes even 2 weeks after ive had my period that im still bloated! theres only 1 week of the month where im fine! i was wondering that maybe its because of my salt/sodium intake- if this is so then what can i do to reduce my sodium intake ?

Your salt/sodium intake can definitely impact bloating. Sodium increases water retention, thus increasing bloating. To lower your salt/sodium intake, try to eat sodium-free foods. Microwavable foods often have high sodium avoid those. Also don't add extra salt to foods.

it might

definitely salt can do that to you.. try eating other foods around that time to help minimize that.. you can never go wrong with just chewing on some carrots or other good foods..

It absolutely possible. Salt intake is one of the biggest food additives we use. A lot is already put into food before it hits the stores---read the labels and you'll see. A person's salt intake for a day is only supposed to be about 300 mg. and most of the time we take in over 4X that amount in a day. What YOU need to do is basically cut most of the salt out of your diet. You're obviously someone that salt likes so you need to do this. At first you may find food absolutely bland and tastless, but you will adjust. You're probably a big chip fan--gotta cut those way down if not out, except for once in awhile. Canned soups, fast food (big culprit), olives, cheeses & cold cuts all have big sodium content. Start drinking lots of water to flush your system. Add a little lemon/lime slice or juice for flavor and to help the flush. You might want to give up soda also even though its sodium content isn't that high b/c it adds to bloating also. Begin eating healthy--it's worth it.
