Question: I'm eating 1000-1200 calories a day. I work out 5 times a week burning about 400 calories per workout. I need to lose 50 lbs. Will I lose the weight with this amount of calories and exercise? Should I increase how much I work out?

The misconception is that the body actually keeps all you eat
In actuallity if you eat less it saves more
this is a defense for food supply diminishing and starvation

was whenever you stumbled across a dead animal

Morning 8-10oz's of yellow grapefruit juice more is better
either 2 slices of toast jam better than butter or margarine
or english muffin or bagel (no creme cheese)
yup gonna be a tad hungry but after a few weeks
stomach lining will begin to shrink
Lunch 2 slices of PIZZA no sausage toppings
do not have pepperoni everyday make it treat
Now you are really getting hungry but the fat burning is
taking place by itself
that starch intact at lunch with the grapefruit juice
will make you a bit warmer feeling in the afternoon
try to stay on your feet sitting dont help
Get real hungry ?? eat celery sticks best if wet no creme cheese or ranch dip or carrots either whole or sticks
chew long time (pacifier)
drink more grapefruit juice as well
guarenteed if you drink 32 oz in 4 hours you wont be very hungry
At home before dinner go for a walk start out slow
a few blocks more than you normally would walk
try to get it up to 1/2 hr walk its ok to stop and pet the neighbors dog or chat with a neighbor
good mental attitude and peaceful mind really help
petting a dog is good for blood sugar and pressure

Now go home and chew a few saltines slowly until they are sweet in your mouth .. maybe a few more celery and carrots
as well
cool down from walk stimulate the saliva process
it will make dinner taste good you will eat slower

sweet potatoes better than white
fish polish sausage 4-6 oz of steak no big 12 oz tbones
wait 20 to 30 mins after dinner
drink a glass of tea then have a dessert
until bedtime its carrots and celery and grapefruit juice
you do this for 3 months you will be very surprised
you will friends with more of your neighbors
they will start saying things like
boy you look like your losing weight
the dogs will look forward to your walk
and saying hello
you will feel better and as a result you will
start to look better
If your big on working out prob at least 800 around there.
How do you survive?
People are supposed to get 2000 calories a day.
You should probably be burning more calories if you want to lose 50 lbs. I've always heard that your output should be more than your input - I don't think that's totally true (or realistic) but if you burn only 1/3 of your intake, you probably won't see results as quickly as if you burn more.
Of course, it also depends on how healthy you are eating - some types of calories are harder to get rid of, so you should have a somewhat healthier diet in conjunction with the working out. It helps to do more cardio exercises to burn calories faster when you are just trying to lose weight - strength exercises will tone and also build muscle, which tends to make you heavier.
