This is great to read because I have just made a goal to lose 10 lbs in two months as well. I'm 5'3, currently 118 and I'm aiming for 108, which I used to weight 3 years ago. (I'm 21 now) I've slowly put on weight. This is what I'm doing and I think it will work if I DO IT.

First of all I am not going to deprive myself of anything. If I want to eat something I'm going to eat it, I'm just going to only eat half of it or less than half.

If I haven't eaten anything in awhile, even if I'm not hungry, I am going to make myself eat an apple or a banana. I know that this will make me less hungry later. I will stuff myself with tons of fruit and veggies!

I'm going to stop drinking alcohol. This will be my biggest challenge because I live in a college town with everyone always partying. But I want to go a month without drinking at all.

I'm also going to stop drinking anything but water. I read that 20% of our calories come from liquids! I will drink SO MUCH water! Make sure it's really cold because that makes your metabolism faster and it makes you actually feel full.

I'm making plans to stay busy like cleaning out my apartment and organizing everything! It will feel good to be clean and I won't be bored and eating.

The biggest thing I say to myself is:

If you want to change something in your life, you have to change something in your life!

It's not about being skinny. It's about being happy and healthy.

I hope this will help you. If it works I may write a book... just kidding. But I really think that with these simple changes in my life, I will see a big difference and I think you can too.

P.S. I wrote all of this down and more and I told myself to read it everyday. EVERYDAY. If I mess up and drink or eat too much one day I just am going to tell myself to leave it in the past and to keep moving forward. Take it one day at ahead.

You won't move forward it you stay where you are.

yea. go on a healthy diet, exercise, and be more active.

Do some intense exercises. You have set a very achievable target of just over a pound a week. You will do it!

Yes, cutting out all the soda helps a lot. Believe me, I was 160 in 7th grade, I stopped drinking soda and I'm down to 135 and dropping! Yeah, baby.

At your height that kind of weight loss would probably require some working out. It is probably not what you wanted to here, but you are skinny already and losing the junk food won't make you lose much weight because your metabolism is already very good.

well in highschool one time i was over wieght by 4 pounds. so i put alot of sweat pants and sweatshirts from the people that out wieghed me. i ran up and down 3 flight of stairs for about 45 minutes.. i made wieght later and won my match.

Yes you can....

Diet:
First figure out how many calories you need in a day. Type "calculate BMR" in google, a lot of websites can you help you figure it out.
Then reduce that amount by only 100-200 calories (never reduce more than 500 calories).
Make sure to eat plenty of Vegi/fruits and to drink good amount of water. If you need help with diet (and even exercise) look into "Body for Life" and "Eating for Life" by Bill Phillips. Your library should have them.

Workout:
Any cardiovascular exercise you like... running, rowing, biking etc. Do that 30-45 minutes 4-5 times a week.

Lifestyle:
Be more active. Every little bit helps. Go up stairs than elevators, play sports etc.

Rest:
Make sure to get a good night's sleep.

FINALLY: 1-2 pounds a week is max you should be losing. I personally think that 1 pound per week is better.

your weight is already healthy but if you want to lose a couple pounds skipping meals i'snt ever the right way to do things and usually studies prove it doesnt help as much as simply eating healthy foods.
*three ways you could consider is eating you biggest meal at breakfast so you have the whole day to burn the calories.
*if you need a snack try eating fruit or vegeatbles or even a sala instead of things like chips and cookies or iceeam...etc
*while carbs are still an important part of your diet you can try to cut down on them by a little and skip things like soda and sugary drinks go fo more water and 100% juice or v8 drinks(personally i dont like v8 but they have made new ones with fruit i have tried the V8 fusion and didnt care for that much either but i thought the v8 berry splash was delicious.

hey, i love eating too :) don't ever skip meals, its bad for you. I'd reccomend you eat several small meals a day, spaced out over every 3 hours. Eg. 7am breakfast - (healthy - maybe some fruit and some toast with egg), 10 am morning tea 1pm lunch, 4pm afternoon tea, 7pm dinner. Don't focus on avoiding certain foods or on loosing weight. It's too negative. focus on being healthy and eating healthily. Think about the foods you will eat, not the ones you will avoid. eg. drink water, eat fruit and veggies. Also try to get some vigorous exercise at least a couple of times a week (about an hour each time).
