If I had a HUGE food splurge... would it effect my losing weight?!

Question: Okay so I'm on this strict diet where I'm trying not to eat many carbs and I've been doing the whole "fruit and veggies" deal and all sorts of stuff like that.... but I have this HUGE craving for Maui sweet onion potato chips.... like just one day of eating one really bad thing... would that drastically effect my losing weight?

I know that an accumulative "over time" sort of thing is when you lose weight... but are you really losing noticeable (whether physically or numerically) weight every day? Is one day really important in contrast to the rest of my healthy days? :-P

It is about calories, you will have to go with out for a while.

Well I've been on a very strict diet and exercise (cardio and weight training for an hour) for a month now (6 days a week). It was my sisters bday 2 days ago and we ate at a buffet. I didn't fret much only because my metabolism has sped up greatly since I've been on this diet and exercise.

So anyways, one day wont do much damage, if any. I've gained a pound since, but quickly lost it.

I've found that if you have a craving that just won't go away it's best to give in to it -in moderation. Will it drastically affect your weight loss? Well, one pound is equal to about 3500 calories. So, you can figure it by that. That'd be a lot of potato chips. If you splurge too much and too often it definitely affects your weight loss -but once in a while isn't a bad thing. In fact, I've found that it keeps you from having a series of days where you just give in to everything. -If you have a little splurge you can look forward to.

Just remember the 3500calories/1lb thing -that should give you an idea of how much you can/should splurge.
