Is this the right amount of calories?!

Question: I'm 19, female, between 5'5 and 5'6, and 125lbs. I want to loose about 10-12 lbs. I'm in college so for breakfast I have like half a small grapefruit, and some grapes. I usually don't eat lunch, cuz I dn't have time w/ my classes (but if I do its like a half a wrap or a gronola bar). for dinner i have usually have a salad and eaither chicken of somesort,(but def not fried, usually baked, or grilled) or a veggi burge, and some kind of cooked vegitable. (i don't really like meat that much, lol)Oh and water to drink each time or diet soda.

First of all, you know your body better than everyone else, so if you feel like you need to lose weight, then go for it.

I lost a ton of weight (I'm 5'4, 108 lbs) by eating every few hours. I found I actually ended up eating less. So you should never skip lunch, because you'll end up lethargic and overeat later on. Try eating every few hours, whether it's some almonds, an orange, a granola bar, or something. Your dinner is fine.

You are NOT overweight hun!! You should be eating about 2300 or more to maintain your weight.

No, that's not enough calories for your body to function normally.

If you lose 10 - 12 pounds, you'll be underweight.

Your current weight is a healthy weight. And you need to eat more because your current intake is too low which will lower your metabolism and eventually make you gain weight.

As they pointed out, you are NOT overweight. I think the best think you could do is tone up your muscle and increase your calories! By restricting them, you are actually SLOWING your metabolism down! I understand being busy at school, I had the same issues in college. Try grabbing a smoothie for lunch with the granola bar. Also try eating a little more in the morning too. I am not at all a big eater in the morning but maybe add yogurt? Bottom line is- you need a minimum of 1600 calories but when you add workouts into the mix, pump it up to 2300 or you are just hindering your own progress. Focus on building muscle and not weight loss, you are on the small side anyhow.
