Is easting 1000 calories a day healthy or not??HELLP me PLZ?!

1000 is considered not enough.. but thats more than i eat and i am able to sustain myself just fine. most people would say you need about 1200 calories a day.

Well think of it this way..If you ate 1,300 calories and burned off 300 wouldnt it just be the same as if you ate 1,000? So there would really be no point. :P

Just try to eat 1,200 calories a day and you should be fine. :)

It depends how much you weigh to begin with.

You can lose a pound a week if you are moderately overweight by eating 1400 calories a day, since your body needs about 2000 a day to function, therefore some fat is burnt. I am doing this, and it is healthy and I am following a plan.

Eating just a 1000 can be dangerous. I suggest eating about 1500 and burning off about 250 if you like. Exercise is definitely the way to go, even if you eat less calories than normal. So you are right in thinking you should eat more calories and then burn some off, but don't burn off all the way down to 1000, try to stick at around 1300 each day, eat about 1500 and do some gentle and constant exercise, like swimming or cycling.

Well my doctor has me on this crazy low calorie diet. I guess if he approves it then it's safe. I was training for a marathon, and the doctor didn't seem to think that I needed more food. Hmmmm. I would just make sure that you are getting enough protein, enough fiber, drinking your water, taking your vitamins and what I do? I eat when I feel faint. LOL.

The best way to lose weight is to eat 6 SMALL meals or 3 meals and 2 snacks. Drink water and things that dont have high fructose corn syrup. Snack on fruits and veggies but not at the same time as they are digested differently. Try not to eat after 7 or 8 (depending on what time you go to bed) and exersize about 30 min a day. Your goal of a pound a week is a good one but focus on healthy food not counting calories.

lay off the sweets and sodas, stay away from the sugar and carbs. eat fruits and veggies , drink water, and a balanced diet and up it to about 1200-1300 cals a day, walk and exercise 3 x a week for 1/2 hr at a time, sit ups, squats, crunches ect. join a health club using the equit helps and having a instru helps get you moving and she/he knows how to help.

Get out your calculator. There are 3500 calories in a pound. To MAINTAIN your weight you eat your weight X15. (This is assuming you're doing a normal amount of exercise.) So if you weigh 120, you will maintain that weight by eating 1800 calories a day.
Most people think starting a diet at 1200 calories. So figure your goal weight X15, and see how much weight you should be losing a week. It's alll about calories, math, and your calculator!! Good luck!! :)
