Start walking everywhere in the boots you're going to be hiking in. Go on lots of day walks in very hilly terrain and carry the fully loaded pack. Start training today!

start running morning and evening.. every day... rest for 2 days before you leave...

EDIT: btw i have no idea what you mean by tramp - i assumed it meant hiking

The Boston marathon was once won by a woman who took began the race, took the subway, and then resumed the race not being aware that she got ahead of everyone. In other words, you don't have to train too hard, just take a cab, bus, subway, trolly car or anything else that may be around.
