calcium doesn't actually 'burn' fat, but research has proved that those people on a diet who include some fresh dairy products in their diet, do lose weight faster than those who don't. and it has to be fresh for some reason, a calcium tablet won't do the same trick. however, there is no harm taking a calcium tablet when you are dieting as you may inadvertently be taking insufficient calcium and that could lead to osteoporosis later in life. remember skimmed milk contains as much calcium as full fat milk but is not suitable for small children as it doesn't contain enough calories for their fast growing bodies. and do drink LOTS of water...your body can't metabolise fat without it and it helps to keep you feeling full and improves your skin and digestion.

there has been some research done that shows that calcium sticks to fat in the bowel to form a soap like substance. this stops as much being absorbed into the body. so low fat yogurt etc can help u lose weight
good luck!

well, I was going to say the same as xnaomi, so I'll give you a fun fact instead.

Did you know?... calcium is a (very reactive) metal!

From personal experience, I was on a low calorie, low fat diet + working out 5 days a week. I was losing 2lbs a week. When they started saying that Dairy products can help you lose extra weight I added a cup of low fat ice cream to my diet everyday and lost and additional pound a week. So I believe it does.

Studies have shown that eating more low fat calcium foods aids in fat burning and weight loss! Calcium stored in fat cells plays a crucial role in regulating how fat is stored and broken down by the body. Studies show that the more calcium there is in a fat cell, the more fat it will burn. So don't cut out yur milk in fear of weight gain....choose skim milk over 2%, eat more dark green leafy vegetables, salmon, mackerel, almonds, and oats. If you're taking a calcium supplement, make sure it has Vitamin D. Also make sure that you're taking a multivitamin to ensure you get zinc, and magnesium...all of these help our body better absorb calcium
