You are really getting the right answers here. I try to rely on sense, right after working out, your body is broken down, your muscles are ripped. Whats yer body do? Repair itself. Having one of yer protein bars is excellent, immediatley providing that protein to feed the muscles and a little energy to keep on puffing.

You already have the answer

when your working out and after

you can take them before or after. i recommend immediately after a workout. your body burns a lot of nutrients when you work out so your muscles need something to feed on when they are weak. protein right after a workout is the way to go.

Primarily before workouts, or during exercise in general, eating them as a snack is a huge mistake.

There is some degree of evidence that if your body gets more protein than it gets it wont use it. Having said that You should not eat before a workout because your body will be using energy to digest what you've eaten. Protein should be taken when you are resting (probably after a workout). Children mostly grow when they sleep. Tihis concept is the same for your muscles

You can take protein bars after a workout for a better effect. It's not a good idea to eat right before a workout as it over burdens the gastrointestinal tract and increases circulation to the abdominal area instead of the whole body. So that protein bar would be much more effective after your workout and, being high in protein is just what your body needs to increase muscle mass.
