i've had great results with creatine in the form of NO Xplode and Cellmass (both are BSN products). NO Xplode before the workout and Cellmass after. Works like a charm!

Also, i've read from reliable sources that there is no benefit from creatine cycling. just take a normal dose before you workout.

after reading some other answers, i want to make it clear that creatine DOES NOT PUT WATER IN YOUR MUSCLES. it increases ATP flow to your muscles which will decrease recovery time allowing you to work harder and work more.

and it's perfectly healthy. creatine is a naturally occuring chemical in your body. by taking a supplement, your just giving yourself more, cuz your using more

While I have not personally used creatine, I have friends who have used it extensively. It basically helps in working out as it helps you retain water. This means your muscle mass will increase because of the increased water mass and also that you can work for longer periods. From what I've seen and heard from them it works.

I think taking a creatine supplement is unhealthy

I've never tried pure creatine powder, but the brand NOXplode has worked very well for me. It's creatine mixed with nitrous oxide. And no, creatine isn't unhealthy and has no side effects unless you take to much, and that just gives you a headache.

My brother is using the stuff and he says it is great, apparently it just gives him enough ectra energy to push further and get that little extra out of his work out

Lots of protien is the way to go. You should try having some caffiene before you go to lift. You'll be a little bit more stronger when you start working out. they say you'll be like 5% stronger. I've tried creatine and it works up to a certain point and just put a lot of water in your muscles.
